K-911 Mission Statement

By John Sorosky

K-911 Animal Rescue assists in the care of distressed animals. We focus rescue resources and provide safe housing for needy animals. We educate children and the general public about animal care through school outreach, and we design training programs for shelter staff and rescue organizations to improve the lives of the dogs in their care.

The mission of K-911 is to turn troubled dogs into treasured family members. We train dogs directly and teach shelter and rescue staff how to rehabilitate them.

Our Shared Vision

At K-911, guided by John Sorosky’s four decades of training experience, our mission is to make a difference where it matters most: in the lives of shelter dogs and the people who care for them. We are dedicated to empowering staff and volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to create safe, enriching, and compassionate environments for every animal. Through evidence-based, positive training, we help teams understand canine behavior, apply humane handling techniques, and foster healthy relationships between dogs and people.

Our ultimate goal is to increase each dog’s happiness and adoptability, reduce stress and behavioral challenges, and help more dogs find lasting homes. By raising the standard of care through ongoing education and collaboration, every shelter worker becomes a champion for better lives—one dog, one team, and one home at a time.
